This course focuses on managing resources in the service environment. Emphasis is on the effective management of clients/guests, employees, managers, vendors, and government entities. Analysis of common management themes will be expounded and viewed through the lens of the service sector. Students will learn the managerial challenges faced in this unique industry and how to apply their knowledge of management and leadership. Emphases will include: faith integration, communication skills, problem analysis, and leadership skills.

This course provides an overview of basic financial concepts, tools, and sources of information for the hospitality industry. Investment, development, and operational financial requirements will be examined, as well as biblical principles of stewardship, investment, and financial decision-making.

This course focuses on managing human resources in the service environment. Emphasis is on the effective recruitment, training, and management of employees while maintaining organizational standards and regulatory compliance. Analysis of common human resources topics will be expounded and viewed through the lens of the service sector. Students will learn the managerial challenges faced in this unique industry and how they may be addressed. Emphases will include faith integration, communication skills, problem analysis, and leadership skills for human capital.
