Master of Business Administration/Master of Education in Higher Education

DUAL DEGREE

The dual Master of Education in Higher Education and Master of Business Administration degree is a 60-hour, non-thesis program. The program consists of a Higher Education required curriculum of 30 hours and a Master of Business Administration required curriculum of 30 hours. 

Studies in Higher Education provide individuals who are interested in a variety of areas in higher education with the opportunity to explore the various facets of post-secondary institutions. The purpose of the Master of Business Administration is to prepare students for successful and rewarding careers in a global business environment regardless of their chosen vocation. Faculty and staff members work closely with students to equip them with the knowledge and skills for future employment and leadership opportunities. The dual degree will give students the best of both worlds as the concepts are intertwined and integrated from a Christian perspective.

Individuals who are interested in higher education administration, student personnel work, university development/advancement, or teaching at the college level will enhance their immediate value to an organization with heightened leadership and analytical skill abilities developed within the MBA course of study. Individuals sensing God’s calling to be in higher education in any of these areas, or those who are in business and who feel called to serve in higher education administration, will be greatly benefitted by the MBA and MED in Higher Education dual degree.

ADMISSION

In order to pursue a Dual Master’s Degree program, the applicant must apply to, meet the existing admission requirements for, and be accepted into each of the master’s degrees which comprise the dual degree program.                                                                 

MBA FOUNDATIONAL REQUIREMENTS 

As the MBA is a generalist master's business program designed to meet the further educational needs of the broadest range of working professionals with potentially non-business-related undergraduate degrees, no foundational courses are required.  

Nevertheless, three-session self-study requisite courses are included with certain MBA courses and are designed to specifically prepare non-business graduates for the requirements of the MBA level course. The requirement for a student to complete a requisite course is determined by the MBA Program Director. All requisites must be completed by the end of the third semester and before continuation to the balance of the MBA program.  The requisite courses carry no credit or tuition fees. The pass to proceed threshold is 85%.

PROGRAM CONTINUANCE

Continuance in the program past the first 12 hours is pending submission of a satisfactory score on the Miller Analogies Test (MAT) or Graduate Record Examinations® (GRE®).

MBA REQUIRED CURRICULUM - 31.5 hours (excluding requisites)

MED IN HIGHER EDUCATION REQUIRED CURRICULUM - 30 hours (excluding requisites)
